you know what it reminds me about; the atmosphere from "my blueberry nights" by wong kar wai, which is a good comparison definitely (at least, in my mind)

What kind of light did you use? You only have to macro the lights to take that effect?

No need for macro lens on shots like this. you need a lens that can produce shallow depth of field. wikipedia has a good article on it, search for bokeh :)
