Artist's Comments

taken right outside my house yesterday when i had a hunting-for-interesting-flowers-for-macro-session.

Personally i find it damn hard to take photos of flowers and plants without it getting boring and more of a documentation.
I achieved what i was after here, so im very pleased :aww:

I like the little white dots on the "thorns", i have no idea what they are for, or even what plant this is.

It is fun to take photos when you know you want a 1:1/square photo, it takes more planning with the composition.
As always with shots like this i shoot hand held without flash using daylight.

Trying to keep the iso as low as possible, i like to have around 1/150 sec to 1/200 sec shutter speed, to avoid any movement blur.

B/W with raw in lightroom and mild duo tone.
Grain removal, crop for square , strengthen duo-tone and added some more mild colors, blur background more, selective sharpen in Photoshop.

welcome to use it as wallpaper if you want to, or for reference for a drawing, but not for stock or re-use.

I like the white dots too, they make it so crisp at the focal point. I also like the way the sharpness fades away in this sphere.

There comes a time when you look into the mirror and realize that what
you see is all that you will ever be. Then you accept it, or you kill
yourself. Or you stop looking into mirrors.

Thank you :aww: yes, i totally understand. the focus was a bit below the middle, so they got semi-sharp.
