Winds of Egypt is an example of minimalism at its finest. The neutral colours and sparse background are perfect for keeping the focus on the lonely tree. On DeviantArt and elsewhere, we often see a single tree placed in the middle of a simple scene, but it isn't often taken to such an extreme and refreshing degree.

Coupled with the artist's comment of, "These winds never rest, in the heart of Egypt," the piece can take on a multitude of atmospheres, from hopelessness to blissful solitude. The viewers' minds are allowed to wander, making this a beautiful piece on both the surface and beyond.
