How to stand out on deviantartDeviantart has millions of members and billions of Lamas, standing out
and getting out of the anonymous is not easy.
Here is some tips from me.
Like i always say, this is nothing absolute, just a little guide.
JournalYour Profile page is your way to tell something about yourself,
and it is sort of a first impression apart from your deviations.
even if you don`t tell something personal there, the way you write
and tell things tell something about you.
You can write about subjects thats important to you, what you do on deviantart,
feature other users.
A journal with some sort of information can help make you less "invisible"
AvatarYou avatar/icon is often what people click on to get to your page.
a noticeable yet not overflashing avatar is in my opinion the best way to go.
try and find a avatar that stands out, but not bothers other people.
you can make a avatar from your own art, it will make it unique.
GroupsInstead of joining a lot of groups, join some that are close to the type of interest and art you have, and really get involved with the groups.
You can be a help for them, get listed in their journal and come in contact with
the people behind the group.
it will make you stand out more, and meet new people.
ForumThe dA forum is big, with sections covering just about "anything".
find a section that suit you, make topics, comment on other threads.
Speak your opinions, but don`t be rude to others, if so, you will
easily be marked as a troll.
DeviationsI made a previous article covering this:
[link]FriendshipIf there is someone you find interesting and you think seems nice, support their work.
in most cases, you get the support back, and it will make the deviantart so much nicer.
I have people i spoken to 4 years ago that i write to on a weekly basis.
i support them the best i can, and they support me.
not because we feel we have to, but because it feels right.
PositiveSharing your life is nice and all, but 100 journals about how sad you are and how unfair
life is, it is not fun to read and it does not send out a good vibe.
you don`t have to be all sunshine, be yourself, but don`t over focus on the bad stuff,
and most important of all, don`t do dArama. dArama = nobody likes my stuff, i am leaving.
Featuring other people and talking about dA related things is nice, and telling something
about whats going on and so on.
And remember, this site is huge, it can take some time, but keep doing what you love, and keep on appreciating other peoples art
