i report all these i find, and i think other people should to. on that shot he writes he has permission, though it is no url or information at all. doubt people has it on the usually motivational/fail shots that are here. in general, i dislike shots like this on deviantart, they fall in the random boob and look-at-me-and-my-webcam category.
All feedback, fav, comments are very appreciated. I reached the point where i don`t have time to reply, but i read them all. if there is anything you want me to answer, just drop me a note. Thank you for supporting me

So, DA is lying to us?
The Submission Agreement explicitly states that you, as the original artist, retain any and all rights appropriate to your artwork at all times. These rights include, but are not limited to, the full and exclusive copyrights to your original artwork. By agreeing to the Submission Agreement what you are really doing is granting deviantART the basic permissions we need in order to display, showcase, and make your artwork available to viewers using the various on-site systems and tools.
At no time do you lose ownership or any of the exclusive copyrights granted to you by law on any deviation or scrapbook submission which you make to deviantART
DeviantART will not use your work for any project without first consulting you and obtaining your consent.
I dont upload my best stuff cos I'm nervous about it being pinched before I decide what to do with it myself. It's so easy to grab stuff. Even low res people can pinch and use it the net. Yeah but that e.g. is a bit lame.
I've been doing this kind of reporting for 4 years now here on dA. I recently reported this guy [link]
I get tired of seeing people posting photos of celebrities and any other art/images not belonging to them, as I'm sure they do not have permission to do so. It's become a serious issue here and I'm getting tired of seeing it. People need to get their own cameras, take their own photos or in the case of the guy I gave a link to, he needs to digitally paint or draw the images of celebrities and then make them wearing see through clothing.
You have a point here... dA is supposed to be a place where you can show and share what you do, what you create and everything related to it. I'd report it if I found a violation.
btw, does dA give guidelines as to what you need to post in comments in terms of permission and other people's work or you only need to show permission if they ask? I recall having read something about it in the rules section, but can't find it again now.
you'll get crap like that and I think a friendly note to them might work first. He is you fairly average inoffensive deviantant and probably a good bloke. As to things getting better on DA and getting worse, theres a lot of both. with millions of apples you have to get a few runts and worms but some of those apples are ripening and getting a real shine!
I don't know... I think it depends on where you're looking... I still see some awful snapshots in the photography gallery and lots of miscats too. I do think the GM's are trying to do more to keep people informed though...
I'm not sure, I think it depends on where you're looking. The front page is still a little horrifying sometimes. However, the people I was watching who were just "pretty good" before have become "pretty goddamn amazing" as they've worked over the years since I joined, so in terms of people I watch I have noticed a positive quality change.
Do you believe it to be something which grows with time, the quality of art? There will forever be new artists enterting the fields, and old ones leaving, but if we study the 'greatest' in terms of what we are trying to achieve, then perhaps it is true that the overall quality of art can continue to grow with time. Growing can simply be exploring new areas, but it can also be the introduction of techniques and technology to bring about new means of acquiring better quality.
Maybe, but I think it could also be due to you learning to search better. When we spend time in a community like this or flickr looking at other's work, we tend to find more and more good artists looking at groups or favorites from others. I also find a lot of great works now, but I think that quality level has been always good.
Maybe another reason is that since digital cameras have improved, a lot of talented very young people can join photography easily when maybe before they wouldn't have chose this artistic technic. If we had have that amount of resources ten years ago...
lol, i think thats the first time ive heard anyone say that, or i mean usully people complain about how the quality has decreased... but i dont really have an opinion about this myslef since ive only been here for 5 or 6 months, but i know that ive seen alot of amazing art here on DA
