I probably wouldn't notice if they didn't say anything, but I certainly appreciate it. Especially from people who get a ton of comments, and take the time to respond to each one. I think that is really nice.

I don't go looking to see if they say thank you, but I think saying thank you or atleast answering a question is polite and shows that you're interested and greatful for people commenting. I am sometimes turned off from commenting a piece when I see that the artist has not answered any of the comments they received, I think that they would just not read it. I'm not saying that they should answer every comment (cus I know some artists get alot, and they are busy) I try my best to answer and say thank you whenever someone comments to show that I appreciate it.
