How to get page views without doing a thing.

I do not let a website tell me what is popular or not, I be the judge by looking with my own eyes . So I browse galleries randomly by newest submissions. Half the time I see a "popular " picture I am unimpressed . New art and original art and not cheap copies is what impresses me !

I wouldn't say that all the popular ones are cheap copies.

But yea, the new Deviantart set-up limits how much a new artist gets seen. At least on the old Dev they were always showcasing the new submissions.

oh I did not say all are , I just said 50% are over rated IMO . Yes the new dA makes it a bit difficult for the artist or the browser, in this old days all was in order and I just could browse from the back ( less popular up ) now the randomness makes it more difficult.

There are 20 new deviations in a few seconds, so hard to keep track in the new section, but i get your point. i prefer browsing news sections and other peoples favs for finding new artists. i Browse the popular section a couple of times each day to look for inspiration

I see what you are getting at. There is much in the popular section that does not appeal to me, but i like to browse it a couple of times each day. I always find some inspirational shots, Especially in the flowers & plants & animals, and macro section.

Hard to keep track in the new submissions sections, because there is so many each minute, and hard to find "gems".
News and features are a great thing, and some random deviant jumping through other peoples profiles and favs.
