Really shouldn't be done. Featuring is an unselfish act. Adding one's own is self-serving and a little pretentious. However, I try not to judge people, so if they do it, they do it.
I actually had some sort of a fight with a girl whom I called out for posting a feature news article where over a third of the deviations were from her gallery or from her boyfriend's gallery with her as a model.
However, it really depends from case to case, and I think honesty should be the first issue in this matter because you can do this three ways
- you do a feature and then include a few works of yours, mentioning that they are yours. In my opinion this is very ok to do, it's like the host of a gallery doing a little presentation of their business before the opening of the gallery.
- you do a feature and throw in your works as well. I don't consider this fair, because it's almost like you trick people into your gallery. They read your article because they want to discover new artists, instead they wind up with you. It's like those ads you see on websites that look like a little game (shoot the birds you see in the air, catch the running sheep), but when you click on them they take you to some site where you end up paying for all kinds of crap)
- you do a feature of just your own work. I think this is completely acceptable as well, because everyone is entitled to self promotion. Of course, when it's done in an honest and open way.
I'd say that it's okay if, say, the person is featuring pictures of a particular theme and one of their own pieces fall into that category. It shouldn't be done a lot though.

but did you realize that the phrasing of your poll is really strange:
people featuring .... is : I am fine with it
but yes, only feature a few works
